Into the Spotlight: Writing Prompt #305

Okay, this might be a bit of a trope, but for today’s prompt, take a secondary character in a well known story, and move them into the spotlight. What would A Midsummernight’s Dream be like from Puck’s point of view? Cinderella seen through the Prince’s eyes? Beauty and the Beast from Edward’s the Beast’s POV. What story do you think would be interesting seen through another character’s eyes?

  1. This is the premise, of course, of “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.” The film of which is worth seeing, IMHO.

    • I haven’t seen that movie, but want to. Gregory Maguire also uses the premise in his books. Another book I read, Mr. Timothy, is from Tiny Tim’s point of view. Extremely good book.
