I’m always a little behind in the morning. It doesn’t help that I’m not a morning person. It also doesn’t help that I try to squeeze in one little bit more time working on whatever I’m currently interested in–five more inches of spun yarn. Six more words on that story. Two more rows of knitting. Maybe all of the above. And I get up at the latest possible moment. As a result, I’m always grabbing my bag and dashing out the door just in time. And I hate to be late.
So this morning, my usual dash included cat barf in my bag. Well, not so much in as all over. Which meant I had to find another bag, move everything into the bag (without dousing myself in barf). And I was late. Only two minutes, but still. Late is late.
So for today’s prompt, put your character in a situation where something unexpected happens just as they have to leave for a meeting/appointment/to save the world. It should be urgent that they be somewhere on time or the delay is only an annoyance. Like cat barf in the purse.
