Writing Prompt #254

How do you hook a reader? Is it in the first line? The first paragraph? By the end of a chapter? For myself, I need an opening image I can hang on to. To much action at the very beginning can leave me wondering who everyone is and why I should care. In some ways, I like to meet someone and have a reason for sympathy.

So can you do that in an opening line? It would probably take several sentences to build up to that. So for today’s prompt, come up with a great opening line. Do you think you can you hook someone in just one sentence?
