Writing Prompt #234

Words are so important. Through our words, we create meaning. Using a word that has two separate meanings in a conversation can lead to confusion. For example, my friend sent me an email asking if I cooked while my brother came to visit. I responded by telling her all the places we went to eat. Thing is, she wanted to know if I’d sunburned. Ohhhh.

So for today’s prompt, use a word that can have multiple meaning. Create a scene using that word. Go beyond confusion, right to the conflict that would result if someone misunderstood a word. To start you off, here are a few auto-antonyms (or Janus words): impregnable, overlook, bolt, cleave.
