Writing Prompt #82

Before you get to the inciting incident, we should have considered where to introduce the character. Some books start in media res–right in the middle of the action. Is this where yours should logically start? Or you want to introduce the character first and allow the reader to get to know them, develop some sympathy for them first? This to consider: there should be some hint in this first chapter what the character could stand to lose. If you start too slowly, you also run the risk of loosing the reader. So for today’s prompt, consider the first scene and how you will introduce your character to the reader.
