Writing Prompt #68

For today’s writing prompt, here are a couple lines from Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad:

…the grass growing through his ribs was tall enough to hide his bones. They were all there. The supernatural being had not been touched after he fell.

This makes me wonder exactly what Conrad means by supernatural being. The guy’s soul? If so, why is it still with the bones and not departed? Or a ghost? Or…
