Writing Prompt #46

How we begin a story can be tricky. We need to introduce characters, setting, conflict and more in a way that engages the reader. In one writing course I took, the instructor said that the best way to figure out your beginning is to know the ending. Unfortunately, I write a bit by the seat of my pants. My end might be a bit nebulous in my mind, really only solidifying as I reach it.

Maybe that’s why I struggle with solid beginnings and have to re-write more than once to get a start that satisfies not only myself, but a reader. For today’s prompt, set up a solid start to a story (it doesn’t necessarily need to resolve). Once posted, use the thumb up symbol on the post if you would keep reading.
