Writing Prompt #87

One more day until NaNo and I don’t think I’m any closer to ready than I was two weeks ago. I have pages of notes on character, thoughts on the setting, interaction of characters. But something feels like it’s still missing. Today, I’m going to take more time figuring out my character and her story. But also, we need to come up with a resolution. So for today’s prompt, think about how your story ends. Where will your character be (emotionally and physically) in that final scene? How will they have changed from who they were at the beginning?

As for me, I think I may have admit that trying to figure out the plot in a new story while trying to re-write something else isn’t entirely effective. I get sidetracked from things when re-writes are going well. But maybe that’s a good thing. I’ve gotten past the middle stupid stuff, and now I’m deleting great chunks of useless writing, moving around a few elements I want to keep, and writing new scenes to fit everything together. Maybe by the time I’m done a cohesive story will actually exist.
