Even with the recognition that my novel lacks depth, I’m having a hard time fleshing out details. I tend towards spareness in my writing–it comes from an inbred habit of keeping my thoughts to myself. I’m trying to get from one section to the next and it is like a roadblock. I don’t want to give much away, but foreshadowing is a good thing if done well. Oh well, guess it beats using too many words and needing to edit most of them out.
